The Abolition of Work, the End of Struggle

In the Abolition of Work, Bob Black says "no one should ever work". Almost all the misery of the world comes from work and from a society in which production takes presedence over life itself.

Many people believe work is normal. However, the essence of our conscousness is joy, and thus we continuously seek the effort of living. Art, community, creativity, festivity, recreation in general.

What is the basis of struggle, then, in our society? In witnessing the competition around us, we often believe ours is a resource limited world. Yet nothing could be further from the Truth.

Instead, we need only to recognize and better incorporate the unlimited capacity of nature with our society. We can then easily meet our survival needs without waste or competition.
